mRNA localization and the Cytoskeleton

 

It has long been known that some mRNAs are associated and immobilized by the cytoskeleton.  In eggs cells, specific mRNAs are enriched by their association with the cytoskeleton, at particular parts of the cell so that for example cells that subsequently arise from the animal pole contain mRNAs
