Gelactins I-IV

A series of poorly characterized filament gelation proteins isolated from Acanthamoeba castellanii of low molecular weight. Gelactin I is a monomer at 23kd, the others, II, III, IV are dimers of 28, 32 and 38kd (Maruta & Korn, 1977). The later two may be related to a 36 kd dimeric protein from Physarum. None of these are calcium sensitive.
