A small limax amoeba characterized by mitochondria with distinctly helical cristae. 

 

Cashia at the Protist Information Server

Cashia limacoides (7.5 - 25.5mm in length). Looks like a Hartmannella, but the anterior the thickest part of the amoeba body tapers off . Although a freshwater amoeba, this species has been reported in marine sediment with a salinity of 9 PSU (Garsecki & Arndt, 2000).
