• Beddington Medal nominations invited for best PhD thesis of 2009
The Beddington Medal is the Society’s major award to a promising young biologist, awarded for the best PhD thesis in developmental biology submitted in the year. Deadline for nominations is 31 December 2009. More>

• BSDB 2010 Spring Meeting in Warwick
For 2010 we will be back on our normal schedule of meetings with the Annual Spring Meeting to be held jointly with the British Society for Cell Biology from 12–15 April 2010 at Warwick. Full details are now available. More>

• Travel grant deadline for Spring 2010 Meeting
The deadline for travel grants for Warwick is 22 January 2010. More>

• A successful ISDB 2009
The BSDB is hosted the 16th International Society for Developmental Biologists Congress in September 2009. Some 1500 developmental biologists from around the world met at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre to share the latest research findings in developmental biology, including implications for cell biology, genetics, stem cells and medicine.

• Report of recent joint BSDB/SEBD meeting
The International Journal of Developmental Biology has published a very enthusiastic report of the joint meeting between BSDB and its Spanish equivalent (SEBD), which was held in Seville in September 2008. More>
